For Las Vegas' Burning Man community, Terrace Afterhours is bringing everyone back together on Saturday, September 19 for Decompression Session—a night designed to keep the spirit of the playa alive long after the dust settles.
Presented by Dusk Till Dawn & Brett Rubin, Decompression Session brings together two featured headliners with very different approaches to electronic music: MEGA-SCOPES LIVE earlier in the evening and Chris Irvin (US) during the afterhours.
Add performances from Cute Jesus, Sojourner, Camilo Cordoba, Brett Rubin, and Steve Walker, and you've got a night built for the people who aren't quite ready to leave festival season behind.
What is a Decompression Session?
For anyone familiar with Burning Man culture, "decompression" means more than simply getting home and unpacking. It's the process of coming back together.
After spending days immersed in Black Rock City's art, music, camps, mutant vehicles, and community, Burners often look for ways to reconnect once they're back in their cities.
That's where Decompression Session comes in. Terrace Afterhours is creating a Las Vegas gathering specifically for that post-playa energy—a chance to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new ones, and keep the music going.
Burning Man 2026 takes place August 31 through September 7. Just under two weeks later, Terrace opens its rooftop for a night built around that transition from the playa back to the city.
You don't have to be a Burner to come. But if you've spent the summer counting down to the playa, you already know exactly why this night exists.
MEGA-SCOPES LIVE: The Perfect Way to Start the Night
The first featured headliner of the evening is MEGA-SCOPES LIVE.
And calling them simply a "DJ" doesn't really do them justice.
MEGA-SCOPES fuse electronic dance music with hip-hop, trance, organic instrumentation, and psychedelic influences to create something that's difficult to fit neatly into a single genre. Their music has been described as an interstellar blend of pulsating basslines, shimmering synths, infectious grooves, and organic warmth.
Their own mythology is just as unconventional as their sound. The group presents itself as extraterrestrial beings fascinated by Earth's music, creating a playful, otherworldly identity that fits naturally within the imaginative culture surrounding Burning Man.
But the music is what really matters.
MEGA-SCOPES have performed at festivals and events including Wavespell, where they describe playing as the sun came up over a forest to an enthusiastic crowd. Their sound has also drawn comparisons to acts including The Floozies, Glitch Mob, Beats Antique, and Big Gigantic.
That's exactly why they're such a perfect choice for a decompression session. After days of dust, art, camps, costumes, sound camps, and sensory overload, you don't necessarily want to jump straight into another conventional club night.

The beauty of Decompression Session is that it isn't trying to recreate Burning Man. You can't recreate Black Rock City.

Terrace Afterhours has long been connected to the Burning Man community through its music, artists, and crowd. Brett Rubin himself has deep roots in the Burning Man music scene, including his work as co-creator and music director of Black Rock Syndicate, a major sound camp at the festival. That makes Terrace a natural place for a Las Vegas decompression gathering.
The rooftop gives the community room to reconnect while the city becomes the backdrop.
The playa may be thousands of miles away, but the dance floor doesn't have to be.
Chris Irvin (US): From Denver to Las Vegas Afterhours
As the night moves deeper, Chris Irvin (US) takes over for the afterhours portion of Decompression Session.
Coming in from Denver, Irvin brings decades of experience to the Terrace rooftop.
He's been a fixture in the underground house scene since 1992, developing a sound rooted in house, techno, and deeper late-night grooves. His career has taken him through legendary venues including New York's Limelight and Tunnel, as well as major San Francisco venues and Burning Man.
He's also a longtime part of Denver's underground house community through projects including Outta' Our Heads and Paradisco. And that's exactly the kind of artist Terrace wants behind the decks after midnight.
This isn't a quick festival set. This is afterhours.
Chris Irvin has spent decades developing the kind of deep, hypnotic house sound that can carry a dance floor well into the morning.
For anyone coming to Decompression Session after spending the week at Burning Man, this is where the night starts to make sense. The playa energy gets translated into the language of the afterhours.
A Full Night Built to Progress
Decompression Session is designed to unfold gradually. Rather than throwing every artist into the same sonic lane, the night moves through different stages—starting with a warm-up on the Terrace, opening into a unique live performance, and eventually giving way to the deeper sounds of afterhours.
The night begins with Cute Jesus and Sojourner, setting the tone as guests arrive and the rooftop starts to fill.
From there, MEGA-SCOPES LIVE takes the stage.
This is the first major musical moment of the evening: a live electronic performance that brings the psychedelic, playful, genre-bending energy of MEGA-SCOPES to the Terrace. It's an experience that feels right at home in a Decompression Session—especially for anyone coming back from the playa.
After Mega-Scopes, Camilo Cordoba keeps the night moving before the evening makes its transition into true afterhours territory.
That's when Chris Irvin (US) steps in. Coming to Las Vegas from Denver, Chris brings decades of underground house experience to the Terrace. His set is the point where the night gets deeper and more hypnotic.
And when you think the night should probably be winding down, it isn't.
Brett Rubin and Steve Walker take over and carry the session toward sunrise.
Start together. Get weird. Go deeper. Stay until sunrise.
You don't have to arrive at midnight to experience the party. In fact, this is a night worth experiencing from the beginning.
The Burning Man Community in Las Vegas
One of the best things about the Las Vegas electronic music scene is how much overlap exists between local nightlife and the Burning Man community.
Many Terrace regulars make the annual trip to Black Rock City. Many of the DJs and artists connected to the Las Vegas scene have roots in the playa. And many of the people who spend a week building communities in the desert eventually find themselves back on a Las Vegas dance floor together. Decompression Session is for that community.
